Once you have replaced your glasses and contact lenses, what do you do with them? While they can't be recycled with your local recycling service, there are other options besides throwing your old eyewear away.
Bring your old glasses to Optical Solutions, and we will send them to VOSH, who will restore and distribute your glasses to vision clinics and other organizations to give the gift of sight to individuals in low and middle-income countries.
Have old contact lenses, cases, solutions, or eye drop bottles? They can be recycled as well through Terracycle.
Bring your old contact lenses (yes, the lenses!) and the blister packs to our offices and we will send them to be recycled into new products through the ONE by ONE program. Any brand of contact lens is accepted, but the tops and bottoms of the blister packs must be separated.
What about contact lens cases, solution bottles or eye drop containers? Those can be recycled from home! Collect those materials and ship them for free from home through the Biotrue® Eye Care Free Recycling Program. These will be recycled into new products, and for every pound donated, a donation can be made to a charitable organization.
